sadly, in the most improbable turnaround of events, world number one maria sharapova was ousted from the french open by fellow russian dinara safina.
it seemed that sharapova was not prepared for the patience and agility of safina. indeed, safina now will not now be known as the sister of former world number one marat safin but a player with great talent as well.
with the early exit of sharapova, the women’s side opened for the serbians jankovic and ivanovic. i just wish one of them will win the championship this year.
